2012 is here!…
...and we're fast preparing for summer!
Can you believe we’re on to your 3rd show already?
It looks like your Fylde Vintage And Farm Show is on track to becoming a yearly fixture in the county’s farming calendar for many families far and wide …and I’ll admit we are defiinitely looking forward to it just as much as you are!
We’ve finalised the dates as Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July and are pleased to confirm that progress and planning is well under way.
It was my long-held interest in farming and tractors which sparked the idea to hold a show back in 2010, but it’s quickly spiralling beyond just vintage vehicles to include a whole host of varied attractions.
Over the past two years we’ve had more than 200 tractors, motorcycles, lorries, classic cars and bicycles joining us as well as a craft marquee and a wide variety of trade stands. This year we are expecting 400 plus assorted vehicles dating from 1904 to present day. We’ve also had a fabulous parade of vintage vehicles in our main show ring on both days, with the brass band and dog displays being very popular in 2011 and they will be appearing again this year.
Our animal sections will again include rare breed cattle, rare-breed sheep, alpacas, poultry, pigs, a display of working farm horses and birds of prey demonstrations. Children’s entertainments will include a fairground and bouncy castle whilst the grown-ups will be able to enjoy a beer or three in the catering tent with live music from Friday evening through to Sunday with a Rod Stewart Tribute artist appearing on Saturday night.
It’s been great to meet new friends coming from far and wide including Devon, Aberdeen and all over the UK, and this year your Fylde Vintage And Farm Show has some exciting new surprises and additions in store. Check out our What’s On and Show Ring pages for more information, and the bonus printable directions link with a separate downloadable map on our Find Us page.
This year we’ll be raising money for the Derian House Children’s Hospice Appeal which I’m sure you’ll agree is a fantastic cause with admission being just £7 for adults and £3 for children ages 5–16 (under 5’s are free). A family ticket will cost £18 (for 2 adults and 2 children ages 5–16), with ample free car parking on the day.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all again soon, and if you’ve any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact us or just give us a call.
David Martin,
Show Organiser
